Natural aggregates or crushed stone and sand and gravel are amongst the most abundance of natural resources. One of the most important basic building materials that is produced in quarries, aggregates are the basic raw materials used for construction, agriculture, chemical and metallurgical industries.
Some of the end-products from aggregates are used as railway ballast, construction products such as ready-mixed concrete (made of 80% aggregates), pre-cast products, asphalt (made of 95% aggregates), lime and cement.
Aggregates products include:
- Crusher Run (50mm)
- Aggregates (20mm, 10mm, 25mm and 40mm)
- Armour Rock (All sizes, usually by weight)
- Quarry Dust and Manufactured Sand
- Land fill and road base products
- Ballast (All sizes to meet project specification)
- Stone Column (50mm x 75mm)
- 6 by 9 Block (150mm x 230mm)
Asphalt concrete or normally known as asphalt or tarmac is a composite material commonly used to surface roads, parking lots and airports.
An asphalt plant is a plant used for the manufacture of asphalt, macadam and other forms of coated roadstone or asphalt concrete. The manufacture of coated roadstone demands the combination of a number of aggregates, sand and a filler (stone dust or quarry dust), in the correct proportion, heated and finally coated with a binder, usually bitumen based. The temperature of the finish product must be sufficient to be workable after transport to the final destination. A temperature range of 100 – 200 degrees Celcius is normal.
The quality of the mixtures varies, resulting in the production of different grades and types of asphalt, suitable for diverse infrastructural needs – airport runways, highways to pavement.
Asphalt products include:
- Asphaltic Concrete Binder Course (ACBC)
- Asphaltic Concrete Wearing Course (ACWC)
- Bituminous Macadam Binder Course (BMBC)
- Bituminous Macadam Wearing Course (BMWC)
Hap Seng Clay Products Sdn Bhd is the second largest clay bricks manufacturer in Malaysia operating 4 brick factories – 2 in Sabah and 1 each in Johor and Pahang with total monthly production capacity of 20 million pieces. End products are distributed locally as well as and exported in both regional and international markets.
In Hap Seng Group, quality is always given prominence in all products manufactured. Hence, all our brick factories are equipped with modern automated and semi-automated production lines; All our clay brick products are compliance to Malaysian Standard of MS76:1972 & MS2282-1:2014 and having product certification from SIRIM and BOMBA.
Clay brick is one of the most commonly used materials in the construction of buildings and it is made from clay by burning it at high temperature. The heat gives rise to sintering or forming process that causes the clay particles to fuse and develops extremely strong ceramic bonds in the burnt clay bodies. Such bonds are highly stable and as a result, bricks can withstand severe weathering actions and inert to almost all normal chemical attacks.
Our clay brick products include:
- Common Solid Bricks
- Common Blocks
- Decorative Bricks (Facing Bricks, Rock Face, Veneer, Clay Pavers)
