A day of golf and dinner at a leading golf and country resort here was made all
the merrier when it successfully raised a total of RM350,000 for deserving organisations
in our community.
The event, Hap Seng Charity Golf and Dinner 2010, was organised by Hap Seng Building
Materials Holdings Sdn Bhd on 29 January 2010. Participants at the full-day affair
included employees of the company along with the company’s business partners,
suppliers and customers. All in all, the event was well supported with 128 golfers
taking part.
The proceeds raised was channeled to five charity organisations, namely FMDM
Educare Centre, which provides free educational support to underprivileged children
and youth; Praise Emmanuel Children’s Home; Ann’s Cottage, a home for abused
women and their children; Rita’s Old Folks Home; and the Breast Cancer Welfare
Association.
A cheque presentation ceremony was held recently at Menara Hap Seng Kuala Lumpur.
Ronald John Delaney, Chief Executive – Quarry and Building Materials Division,
along with his wife, Barbara Delaney, was on hand to present the cheques to the
representative of the said organisations.
Ron Delaney said, “It was indeed heartening to see such a wonderful turn-out
and support for our charity and golf event. Spending a day at the green is certainly
an ideal way to foster closer relationships between our employees, business partners
and customers. All the more so when the occasion is also for a good cause,” he
